Submental Fullness (Double Chin)

What is Submental fullness?
Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin”, is a common yet undertreated facial aesthetic condition. It is seen in a broad range of men and women, and is often resistant to diet and exercise alone.

How is submental fullness treated?
KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness.

How does KYBELLA® work?
The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

What can I expect?
During your treatment sessions, your Practitioner will inject KYBELLA® into the fat under your chin. Many patients experience visible results after 2 to 4 treatment sessions. If a lot of fat is present, up to 6 treatment sessions may be administered spaced no less than one month apart.

Have a question about your treatment?
We have a dedicated triage nurse (RN) who answers patient questions during office hours. If you have a problem or question about a procedure or a prescribed medication, please call our office and ask to speak to our nurse. If she is unable to answer your question, she will consult with your practitioner and return your call.
